This competition appears very nice since, hopefully, we can contribute to safety in coal mines. And clearly, the higher AUC that we achieve, the better. However, I would like to ask, if possible, what would be the desired level of AUC resulting from this contest?
More specifically, it would be interesting to know if there is any benchmark solution that we are to improve. Also, what is the minimal AUC for a solution to be of practical use at coal mines (if at all)? I wonder if the organizers could shed some light on this matter.

Currently, it is impossible to determine what values of AUC are acceptable from the practical point of view. Our research is new and innovative, the accuracy requirements of the method will depend on the energy threshold separating hazardous and non-hazardous states. The aim of the contest is to give an answer what values of the sensitivity and specificity are achievable.
